Krista Kim’s Education and Career
Krista has a degree in Political Science from the University of Toronto and an MA in Fine Arts from Goldsmiths, University of London. The success of Krista’s art has led her all over the world, living in Seoul, Tokyo and Singapore. She has exhibited in exhibitions, fairs and galleries throughout the world, and in 2018 was the chosen artist of Lanvin’s Fall Collection by Creative Director Olivier Lapidus. The impact of this collaboration has been ground-breaking, as it has introduced the colour field digital gradient trend into the world of fashion.
Techism emerged out of Krista’s shift in consciousness as she noticed she was drawn towards a digital medium. Following Marshall McLuhan’s theory that ‘the medium is the message’, Krista sees technology as one of the key factors in determining our social behaviours and believes this should be brought into art. The Techism movement bridges artists and engineers with a drive towards the future.
Krista Kim and Mark Rothko
Krista cites Rothko as one of her main artistic influences. From his early figurative pieces, to the emotional experiences his celebrated abstract paintings evoke, Krista aligns her art with Rothko in its ability to connect humans to something greater than ourselves.
