Rogan Brown

Born in the UK and now working in France, Rogan Brown is a sculptural artist who makes use of a unique material: paper. While it may seem like a particularly fragile medium for a sculptor, it is in fact perfect for the subject matter of his Botanical Art. These Paper Sculptures dive deep into the world of science and nature, exploring the fascinating and beautiful forms that surround us. From the smallest bacteria up to the structure of trees and other plants, Rogan’s work is a marriage of art and science that celebrates the beauty of the natural world.

Rogan Brown’s Career

The artist originally studied at Goldsmiths’ College in London, and also holds an MA from Queen Mary University. His Sculptures, some of which take up to 5 months to complete, have featured in a range of exhibitions and art fairs across the UK and the world, including the Context New York Art Fair and the Present Art Festival in Shanghai.

Prizes and Collections

Throughout his art career, Rogan Brown has picked up numerous prizes, including the Emerging Artist of the Year at the 2014 National Open Art Competition and the Shanghai-Florence Prize 2013-2014. His work also featured in a collection at The Eden Project in Cornwall, an organisation perfectly suited to the natural and scientific themes of his work.
