& nbsp; C215, mysterious appellation that can refer to a pantone color as well as a chemical formula. But behind this code name is in fact hidden one of the most influential street art actors in France. Christian Guémy, alias C215, born in France in 1973. It was in 2006 that the artist subscribed to the practice of stencil and graffiti, an activity that will no longer leave him from this moment. He follows a training in history and economics, wishing to model a humanist profile of modern times, and will gradually go to the history of art afterwards. This journey will arise a fascination for the work of Caravaggio. C215 seeks to transcribe the brilliance and beauty of these art classics in our current cities. To do it, he will regain possession of the walls of his city, in Ivry-sur Seine, and paint dreamlike and colorful works. The trigger for him was a heartache. He separates from his wife and cannot see his 4 -year -old little girl day after day. Determined to show her that he still thinks of her on a daily basis, he will make a drawing of his former spouse and then of his daughter Nina on a facade in her neighborhood. An event that will mark the start of his career as an urban artist. The works of C215 are mainly in human sizes to be closest to reality and passers -by, with the exception of certain more imposing murals. It will emerge from sparkling colors and particularly worked lighting. We will perceive the character of its models through the features and expressions that are portrayed. The faces come alive and blows a wind of poetry on the city. For the artist, street art must be confused with his environment, dialogue with the elements that compose it and show real aesthetics. Its primary reference is none other than Ernest Pignon Ernest, a tutelary figure of street art in France.
