Per Svensson, visual artist and soundartist, born 1965 in Gothenburg, Sweden. Educated at the Royal University College of fine Arts in Stockholm 1985-90. Currently lives and works in Ystad and Gothenburg in Sweden. With international merits of exhibitions and soundart works shown in various countries and places, such as LACE in Los Angeles, Moderna Museet in Stockholm, Ystad Art Museum, Lusaka National Museum in Zambia, Heliosturm in Cologne, The Academy of Art in Budapest, Gothenburg museum of art, Kristianstad Center for Contemporary Art, Galerie Jeune Création in Paris, Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris... Per Svensson has created his own landmarks with his specific alchemic art expression and soundart dealing with the forces of nature, alchemy, social and environmental issues, the architectural and geometrical structures of nature and its relation to sound, image and space. Artist Statement My work, my Art and Soundart, is a form of research in various issues such as; Alchemy, Social and Environmental issues, projects dealing with the Forces of Nature and the environmental effects on the Planet. Often my works include my own body and persona, as a tool in the creative process and also in the presented works. My work is therefor also dealing with the bodily functions and the senses - Visually and Audibly. Other works of mine are dealing with political issues such as; human rights, freedom issues and effects of power & corruption. My interest in Alchemy and Occultism effects my work in a direction that is leading in to research about material and substance and the architectural and geometrical structures of both nature and sound. My alchemical activity deals also with energies in nature and the spiritual activity of people on the Planet, in direct relation to the world as a place in a larger cosmic structure. In this research work I allow myself to move freely in various directions and fields of expression such as; Film, Text, Multimedia, Fieldrecordings, Drawings, Public Sculpture, Architecture, Environment and Sound.
