Hello Artfetch!

We shared some pretty big news on Monday - it's now Friday and we're still buzzing about it - Rise Art has acquired Artfetch! Katie Tsouros co-founded Artfetch 3 years ago in Dublin as a platform for emerging artists to be discovered by collectors and art lovers around the world. Sounds pretty familiar right? We interviewed Katie on her first day (what a way to start...) quizzing her all about her career as a curator and where she finds her inspiration. She gave us some top tips on buying art and picked 5 of her favourite pieces on Rise Art!

The Rise Art team has been working around the clock to onboard all of Artfetch's fabulous artists to our platform! The curatorial team at Artfetch handpicked each and every artist so you can be sure that all of the new talent you're seeing is vetted by the experts. It's only been a week and we've already got some really diverse and exciting works to tempt you with! Illustrated 2016 @ The Old Truman Brewery

Last Friday our Artist Champion popped down to the very trendy Old Truman Brewery in the heart of Brick Lane for the once-a-year art fair, Illustrated. She mingled with the artists themselves and sipped on free craft beer from the Paolozzi brew company. As always she had her eagle eye on some new artists for Rise Art. Watch this space.

Royal Academy Summer Show

The prestigious Royal Academy Summer Show opened its doors on Monday. Trust me, it's been a struggle all week just to stay in the office instead of hopping on the tube to Piccadilly Circus and spending the afternoon soaking up this year’s selection. I suppose this weekend will have to do! Head down if you can, it's on until August.

Tate Modern Reopening Weekend

Finally!!! Long-awaited but finally here, the Tate Modern is opening the doors of its brand new extension! They have a whole weekend planned of fun & free events to get involved in so drop in if you get the chance. With brand new showrooms, an epic view over the Thames and a focus on contemporary female artists, the Tate Modern is the place to be right now!

Travel With Art

It's Art Basel week! The time of year when every major art collector, gallery and celebrity art enthusiast descends on the tiny Swiss town overlooking the Rhine River. The show features Modern and contemporary artworks from over 4000 artists and 200 galleries. Flight tickets or a private plane to Switzerland please? Anyone? ...sigh.

Kristin Gaudio-Endlsey at Curious Duke Gallery

The popular, multidisciplinary artist Kristin Gaudio-Endsley flew over to London from Washington, USA this week to exhibit some of her works in a 4 day show at the Curious Duke Gallery in Shoreditch. Curator Nat popped down to see her works in the flesh and have a chat with Kristin, and she'll be uploading some brand new works soon - watch this space!

Krista Kim in British Vogue

Innovative Techism artist Krista Kim was featured in British Vogue last week as the No.1 artist on the Vogue Gallery list. This is quite a feat but we're not surprised, her elegant colour field LED artworks are stylish and absolutely 'in vogue'...!

Tikkanen's energetic artworks combine geometric precision with expressive brushwork - it's hard to believe they're original oil & acrylic paintings. These urban, edgy works reference architectural structures that she has stretched to abstraction. At such a large-scale, they are definitely statement works and are absolutely perfect for bold, bright interiors!
