Dai Robert's UNIT series take the ideas of the early Modernists as a starting point, which he reworks within a contemporary context. By using simple colours, geometric design and architectural form, Dai creates fascinating gravity-defying shapes that play and seduce the viewer with their sleek formal qualities. He draws elegant perspectives and volumes through subtle tones, as previously seen in the works of iconic artists, such as Mondrian and Malevich.
Dai Roberts (b.1974 Andover, UK) studied at Chelsea College of Art & Design, London (2003-05) and Nottingham Trent University (1999-2002).
