About the Art

‘becoming’ is heavily influenced by the writings of the philosopher Deleuze and the notions of transience of the self and deterritorialization. Deleuze notably said, “underneath all reason lies delirium and drift,” and ‘becoming’ with its sense of movement and disorder reflects this sentiment. The concept carries through in the choice of materials, with graphite especially chaotic in application and its particulate nature adding to the sense of impermanence.
